Registration for the 2013 Blitz Games Studios Open Days is now closed. It is likely that we will run further days in 2014 and registration will open around September 2013. Do follow us on Twitter to stay informed! @BlitzAcademy For more information on careers and job roles within game development, please see the rest of the Blitz Academy site.
The student days are intended for anyone who wants to work in game development; that doesn’t mean only people who are on actual games courses, it could also include those studying courses like Computer Science, Animation, Mathematics, Physics, Audio Technology or Illustration – any one of a number of courses where the core skills are related to games development, as well as the more obvious courses like Games Art, 3D Modelling, Game Animation and Game Programming.
We run these days as part of our continued commitment to improving the knowledge base of the industry’s future game developers and to hone their next gen skills. Huge thanks to UKIE too, for offering funds to help with travel expenses for those most in need. Students who secure a place will be able to apply at that time.
The aim is to give people who want to work in games a chance to experience a little of the reality of our industry, to give them a feel for what the work entails and a chance to ask questions of our talented and enthusiastic developers.
Our annual Open Days have always been hugely popular with those who have had the chance to attend and we hope that even more students will register and send us their work in 2013.
