Blitz careers crusade continues
2004 Mar 12 Blitz Games is continuing its successful run of University Careers Talks this week by visiting Derby University. A number of links have been forged with key universities over the last few years and this latest tour of presentations represents a marked push to help students into a videogames career.
Blitz are due to visit the university on Friday 12 th March and this will be the company's third visit there. Their talk (directed at students on games-related degree courses) will focus on all aspects of the games industry including the stages involved in making games, advice on individual job roles available, what content to include in portfolio work, and interview techniques. This academic year's round of presentations has already kicked off with visits to Nottingham Trent University and Teesside University with another one planned for Bournemouth University in May.
Philip Oliver, CEO of Blitz Games, was very positive about the coming presentation schedule: "We're constantly looking for ways to help students who wish to enter the games industry and over recent years this programme of lectures has proved valuable for both us and the students themselves.”
