Summary
As a Project Director you will be responsible for the efficient running of a game development team. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the game is completed on time, within budget and to a high quality. You will oversee the Technical, Art and Design Managers who lead the respective areas of the team.


Specific requirements for this role:

• To deliver the game on time, within budget and to a high quality.
• Primary point of contact for the publisher.
• Create and maintain a project plan (MS Project).
• Defining project manpower and equipment requirements.
• Generating milestones and specific milestone deliverables for the contract.
• Establishing the processes through which the game will be developed.
• Delegation and prioritisation of tasks.
• Monitoring day-to-day running of the project, identifying and solving production problems.
• Ensure a realistic game scope.
• Oversee the Technical Manager, Art Manager and Design Manager.
• Report effectively to Senior Management.
• Running team meetings and ensuring good communication.
• Primary representative in management meetings.
• Coordinating internal/external recruitment for team vacancies in conjunction with the recruitment department.
• Review/appraise staff and deal with general performance management of the team.
• Delivery of milestones.
• Fully understand and fulfill the terms and conditions of the relevant contracts for the games.
• Liase with Marketing Manager and the publisher's PR & marketing operations to provide necessary materials.

Directly reporting to:
• Development Director (whilst working on "live" projects with monthly milestones).
• Pitch Team Manager (whilst in between "live" projects and assisting with pitches).

Levels of Authority:
• Entertainment of selected contractors when necessary up to current expensive limits.
• Entertainment of publishers as necessary up to the current expensive limits.


Requirements for all management roles:

• Proficient in MS Project, MS Office, Power Point, Excel.
• Good understanding of game development techniques.
• Industry management experience essential.
• Confident self starter with good motivational skills.
• Proactive attitude.
• Strong inter-personal skills, tact and diplomacy.
• Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standard.
• Proven leadership skills essential.
• Enthusiasm and knowledge of video games in general.
• Good team player.
• Good communicator with excellent presentation skills.
• Aspirations to develop people management skills.
• Resilience and strength of character.
• Professional attitude and work ethic.
• Needs to be comfortable working to deadlines.
